Search Engines
When an internet user is seeking information on the web, the first thing they'll do is use a search engine such as Google, Yahoo or one of the many others available online. By submitting your web site for indexing in these various search engines, you will drive traffic to your web site whenever people type in search words pertaining to your business.
Once your web site is submitted, the search engines will send what is called a "spider" - a program which automatically combs your web site, mapping out the information on the site's various pages. The information is then sent back to the search engine indexing database. The indexing database saves the information from your pages, storing it for the next time someone enters a search word related to the information on your site. The kind of information indexed depends on the particular search engine. Some index every word in a document; others index the document title only. When the user performs a search by entering keywords, the database is searched for documents that match. The search engine then assembles a web page that matches the users search with links of the information requested.
Upon completion of your web site Outdoor Network codes the pages with keywords, to make sure the spiders index it correctly. We spend countless hours studying how search engines operate, to make sure the web sites we design are built in such a way that our clients rank as high as possible in relevant searches. If your site is not built to suit a particular search engine's indexing scheme, your site will not get listed. This is why some web sites are listed on some engines, but not on others. Once the search engine lists your site, they will come back and re-index the site for new information on a regular basis. If your site is updated with fresh content, the search engines will give your site a higher listing. This is not possible with a static billboard web site - but Outdoor Network interactive sites can be constantly and easily updated by you, the owner, resulting in a higher search engine rank.
Search engines are one part of your internet marketing plan. Outdoor Network standards include proper keywords and page coding for submittals to the major search engines on our basic program.
